age 78 years. The funeral will be
held Monday at 10 a.m. from the
Owens Funeral Home, College St.,
Clinton. Friends may call at the
funeral home Saturday 7 to 9 p.m.
and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

DEANSBORO - Bert T.
Whaley, 78, heating and plumbing
contractor, died this morning
in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital
Center.
He was born in Vernon Center
July 21, 1888, son of Whitlock
and Emma Gibson Whaley,
and received his education in
the Vernon school.
On June 16, 1920, he and Lucille
Brandis of Deansboro were
married. They have resided
here since. He was a World War
I veteran, having served in
Europe. He was a member of
Hiram Baker Barracks 660,
Whitesboro, Veterans of World
War I, and of Modern Woodmen
of America.
Mr. Whaley was president of
the Deansboro Cemetery Association,
superintendent of the
Deansboro Water Company,
member of Barton Hose Co.,
Deansboro, and the Methodist
Church of Vernon Center.
Surviving besides his wife
are a son, Theodore, Deansboro;
a brother, LeRoy, Oneida; two
grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday
at 16 a.m. from the Owens
Funeral Home, 35 College St.,
Clinton. Burial will be in Deansboro
Cemetery.

and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m.
