- Larry W. Stolzenberg Sr., 72, of Burt, NY, entered into the loving arms of his Lord after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, June 25, 2016, surrounded by his family. Born on March 20, 1944 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the loving son of the late Donald and Jean (Ricker) Stolzenberg. Larry graduated from Newfane High School in 1963 where he met his loving wife of 51 years, Susan (Brandt) Stolzenberg. Larry entered into the United States Air Force in 1968, serving in Korea and Thailand until his honorable discharge in 1972. He worked as a security guard for Harrison Radiator before retiring in 1999. Larry’s greatest memories came from spending time with family and friends. He loved spending time with his kids growing up and in his later years his grandchildren, giving tractor rides, attending hockey games and go-karting. His devoted dogs, Sadie and Misty, never left his side, and enjoyed every treat and table scrap. Anything to do with racing was a passion for Larry. He was skilled at small engine repair and for many years, traveled with his son and grandson to all different race tracks. He was their biggest fan and mechanic. In recent years, he enjoyed going to the go-kart races to see his “Ransomville Racing Family” and watch them race.. Larry enjoyed camping, fishing, and keeping everyone laughing. Larry’s memories will continue on in his loved ones. He is surivived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Susan (Brandt) Stolzenberg, his loving children, the late Diana Stolzenberg, Karen (Joel) Perri, and Larry (Melanie) Stolzenberg. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Casey Smalley, Brady Stolzenberg, and Lucas Stolzenberg. Two sisters, Nancy (Thomas) Say and Carol (James) Scott. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close extended family. Visitation will be held on Friday July 1, 2016 from1-3 PM and 6-9 PM at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME INC., 2670 Main Street, Newfane, NY 14108.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Newfane United Methodist Church, 2699 Main Street, Newfane.Donations can be made to the Newfane United Methodist Church , Roswell Park Cancer Institute or Autism Society of America at www.autism-society.org
