Harry "Butch" Vollmer, 64, of North Tonawanda, Thursday, October 16, 2014, at home, surrounded by family, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Butch was born in DuBois, PA on September 21, 1950 to Harry and Mary (Donahue) Vollmer. Butch was a 40-year skilled Drywall Contractor, 20-year North Tonawanda City employee. In his spare time he enjoyed music, playing his guitar and singing.
Butch is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen (Kalpin) Vollmer; father of Dawn, Kristen (Daniel) Sass and Steven Vollmer; brother of Pat (JT) Wright, the late Eileen (Raymond) Summerville, the late Tessie (Bert) Holland, and Walter (Jennifer) Thompson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda. (NEW LOCATION). Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
