PHELPS - Mr. and Mrs. Carl
Schindler of Phelps celebrated their
55th wedding anniversary May 11.
Carl Schindler and Clara Brandt
were married in St. John's Lutheran
Church in Lyons. They lived in
Lyons until 10 years ago, when they
moved to the Phelps area.
Schindler owned and operated a
large fruit and vegetable farm in
Lyons. He has built more than 500
bluebird houses; a display of his
work and literature was recenty
shown at Phelps Library. His wife
was a forelady for the National
Biscuit Co. for 25 years.
Several of the couple's nieces
gave a'dinner party to celebrate the
anniversary.
