  Lockport NY Union Sun Journal - 1/16/1945 NEWFANE. Jan. 16-Mrs. Charlotte A. Brandt; of this village, received word today from the U. S. War department that her son, Technical Sergeant Elwood A. Brandt, had died on December 19 of wounds received In Luxembourg while serving with the 109th U. 8. Infantry. Sergeant Brandt had been overseas since November, 1943. He was a native of Newfane and a graduate of the Newfane high school. Besides has mother, he Is survived by a brother, Howard Brandt, also of Newfane.
