- Sandy Minoian, 68, of Grand Island, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7th, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Hamilton, Ontario on July 27, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Arshaloce (Derarastakisian) Wilkinson. Sandy came to Niagara Falls when she was a child with her mother and sister, Tina. She graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School and received her Associate’s Degree from Bryant and Stratton College. On February 7, 1970, she married her loving husband, Harry Minoian, at St. Sarkis Armenian Church in Niagara Falls. Sandy had a 32-year career in banking and retired in 1998 as the Vice-President of Citibank in Niagara Falls. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Grand Island Women’s Club and a faithful member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband of 47 years, she is survived by her son Donald (fiance Laura Underwood) Minoian; two sisters, Tina (Frank) Zelinsky and Kim (Gary) Baillie; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her one brother, Donald Jay Wilkinson and one sister, Lori Parris. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12th from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 2587 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Wounded Warrior Project.
