Tuesday afternoon, June 3rd, at four
o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Jay B. Oakes, Lyndonville, occurred
the marriage of Miss Grace A. Oakes,
daughter of Mrs. Sarah Oakes, to Dr.
Frank Breed, V. S., of Pearl River, N.
Y. The bride and groom were unattended,
the ceremony being performed
by Rev. H. H. Brown, of the Presbyterian
church, in the presence of thirtyfive
guests of the immediate families.
After the congratulations and wedding
dinner the couple left for a honeymoon
trip and will be at home at Pearl
River after July first.
Dr. Breed is a graduate of Cornell
University and now employed in the
Lederlie Laboratory for the manufac-
ture of seriums for contagius dis-
eases at Pearl River.
There were four pre-nuptial entertainments
in honor of Miss Oakes:
Mrs. Jay Barry and Mrs. Mark Barry
at the home of the latter entertained
Friday afternoon, May 22; Mrs. Rose
Oakes, a sister-in-law, at Ridgeway,
gave a shower Thursday afternoon of
last week; Mrs. Una Smythe entertained
last Friday afternoon, and Miss
Jennie Coon, at Yates Center, entertained
their Associate Teachers Training
Class, of Wilson, Saturday afternoon.
