Norman Arthur Wynes, 68, of Davidson, NC passed away from natural causes on Monday, December 8, 2014. He was born to the late George and Sarah (McLeod) Wynes.
Norman was a proud Marine, and acquired over thirteen medals and badges of honor, including the Purple Heart medal and serving on the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington D.C.
Norman married Joyce (Perriman) Wynes in 1969, and graduated from Buffalo State University with a major in Speech and Theater. He raised his family in upstate New York, and owned his own sales company, Wynes Brokerage Co. Inc, for over twenty years. He retired to North Carolina and after living in Charlotte for a few years, he moved to his dream town of Davidson, where he enjoyed the mountains, ocean and Lake Norman with his wife (and dogs Mocha and Annie).
Norm is survived by his wife Joyce (Perriman) Wynes; son, Derrick Wynes; daughter Stephanie Wynes and her husband Keith Sanders; grandchildren Jett and Riley Sanders; brothers, George (Ann) Wynes and William (Judy) Wynes; seven nieces and nephews; and nine cousins.
Norm's curiosity, creativity, stories, jokes, and resilience will be greatly missed. He was a man of honor, not only for his country as a Marine, but also as a husband and father.
His final resting place will be at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring of 2015. Donations welcome to www.toysfortots.org.
