H. J. Wolfe Dies at Wolcottsville
A retired mechanic at the National Gypsum Co. in Oakfield, Henry J. Wolfe, 73, died Friday (Feb 14, 1958) at his home here. Born April 28, 1885 in Niagara County, he was the son of August and Anna Wagner Wolfe. He had resided here for the past 44 years and was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Edna Giertz; 8 daughters, Mrs. Anna Eick of Middleport; Mrs. Inez Fink of Johnson Creek; Mrs. Delores Landon of Gasport; Mrs. Gertrude Glens; Mrs. Erma Glens; Mrs. Ruth Ewald, Mrs. Helen Kozloski. Mrs. Mabel Morgan; and a son Kenneth, all of Wolcottsville; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, August of Barker and Charles Wolfe of Canandaigua; six sisters, Mrs. Rose Yago and Mrs. Anna Jones, both of Burt; Mrs. Ida Horanburg of Newfane; Mrs. Amanda Winkley of Appleton; Mrs. Lorraine Cahill of Victor; and Mrs. Esther Conley of Silver Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the late house, where services will be held at 2 Monday afternoon and at 2:30 at St. Michael’s, with the Rev. Hilbert Huth officiating, Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
