  Merle J. Smith of Newfane, NY, husband of the late Marcia Duncan Smith and Helen Payne Smith entered into rest on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at home while under Hospice care. He was born in Hartland, NY on March 12, 1930, the son of the late Dudley and Leah Wiseman Smith. Merle served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and retired from Harrison Radiator in 1988. Father of Lyn (Michael) Seefeldt  and John (Kathleen) Smith. Step father of Terry Payne.  Grandfather of Tracy (Matthew) Eye, Andrew J. Smith and Richard (Maren) Smith. Great grandfather of Hunter Eye,  Autumn Eye, Grady Smith and Sari Smith. Brother of the late Helen (Vance) Taylor ,Doris (Louis) Stout,  Joan (Charles) Muisner, and Tish (Faber) Gooding. Friends and family are invited to call at the Olcott Bible Church 5601 W. Lake Rd. Olcott, NY 14126 on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM where a  Memorial Service will be held at 11:15 AM.  Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Olcott Bible Church or Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
