Mrs. Meritta Brick Callinan, wile
of Chief of Detectives George H.
Callinan, died In Mount St. Mary's
hospital at 11:25 o'clock last night.
She had been a patient in the hospital
since March 27, suffering from
a heart condition.
Born in Buffalo, Mrs. Callinan
was a daughter of the late Mr. and
Mrs. Anthony Brick. She came
here with her family at an early
age and later graduated from the
nilrsing school at Mount St. Mary's
hospital. Prior to her marriage,
she was parochial school nurse here
Deeply interested in welfare work
and social activities, Mrs. Callinan
enjoyed a wide popularity and had
a host of friends. She was a member
of St. Mary's of the Cataract
church.
Besides her husband, she is survived
by a brother, Thomas Brick,
superintendent of the north end
postoffice station, and three sisters.
Miss Leona Brick. Niagara Palls
school teacher; Miss Helen Brick,
Buffalo school nurse, and Mrs.
Martin Tyrrel. of Depew, N. Y.
The funeral will be held from the
family residence, 720 Buffalo avenue,
at 9:30 a. m. Thursday, with
Solemn High Mass at St. Mary's
church at 10 a m. Burial will be
in Riverdale cemetery.
