- Corliss Alida Decker, formerly of the Tuscarora Nation, was called to her heavenly home on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Mt. View Assisted Living in Lockport, NY..
She was a member of the Turtle Clan, born on the Tuscarora Nation, March 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Jonathan and Abigail [Johnson] Printup. Corliss graduated from LaSalle High School in 1945. She also attended Keuka and D'Youville Colleges. She worked at Carborundum for over 15 years as a Government Inspector. She also worked many years for the Town of Lewiston as program director for the Sanbornite Seniors. She was a soloist for the Eastern Star in Ransomville and for the Masonic Lodge in Niagara Falls. For many years she was a Sunday school teacher at the Sanborn Baptist Church and assistant for the children's youth group as well as assistant to the choir director. She most recently was a member of St Peters Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Corliss married Charles L. Decker on August 31, 1946, he passed away on December 26, 2013. She is survived by one daughter, Gail A. (Serge) Komar, six grandchildren, Aaron (Natalie) Faley, Alex (Christine), Kyle & Liam Anderson, Macy Mae Halim and Mila Rose Kolmar and two great grandchildren Alaska and Hugh Anderson, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Corliss was the sister of the late Captain Vincent Printup and John Printup. Her family will be present on Friday from 5-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Thomas G. Thorstad officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Peter Lutheran Church.Interment in the church cemetery.
