- ohn Robert Steingasser, 68, of North Tonawanda, Thursday (March 5, 2015) unexpectedly at home. John was born in Buffalo, New York on June 21, 1946 to Casper and Ellen "Peggy" (Lind) Steingasser. John Served in the United States Army, as a Medic, he was a member of the Riviera Theatre Organ Preservation Society, the VFW post 7545, Tonawanda, NY and the American Legion Post 1322, North Tonawanda. In his spare time he enjoyed doing carpentry work. John was predeceased by his brother in law Edward Kumm, III, and his niece Mandy Steingasser.
John is survived by his wife Janet (Kumm) Steingasser, father of Edward (Stephanie) Cirrito, John R. Jr., all of North Tonawanda, and Carolyn (Mark Tucker) Steingasser, of Ohio, brother of Richard (Loraine) Steingasser, N. Tonawanda, brother in law of Stewart (Beth) Kumm, Charles Langevin, Lynette (Keith) Moeller, Barbara (David, Sr. ) O'Brien, all of North Tonawanda, Constance (Dennis) Jurasz, of GA, and Kelly (David) Rosenburger, Buffalo, grandfather of Miranda and Alyssa Cirrito, Harrison and Madison Moll,all of N. Tonawanda, and Adam, Izabella, and Olivia Tucker, of Ohio, also surviving are many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog and cat Bailey and Sweet Pea.
Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 P.M. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 307 Oliver St. North Tonawanda. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Niagara County SPCA.
