Robert P. Marcucci, 87, of Wheatfield, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, the city he was so proud of, he was the son of the late Arthur and Agnes (Leo) Marcucci. Robert was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. He served in the United States Navy as Seaman Second Class during World War II. On September 13, 1952 he married the love of his life, Carol L. Barone at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. Bob began his forty five year career with Moore Business Forms in 1943 and retired from their Research Center in Grand Island, NY as a lab technician in 1988. He later became a member of the Moore Retirement Club
Robert's passion in life was golfing. He golfed almost every day during the summer months and aced four holes-in-one on the Hyde Park Golf Course. In his younger years, he also participated in local bowling leagues. He and his wife Carol enjoyed meeting friends three times a week as part of a local coffee club. Bob especially enjoyed the routine visits by his loving and faithful neighbors for a cold beverage. Robert will be remembered as a kind and gentle man, who saw the good in everyone. He lived his life for his family and was the greatest husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Robert is survived by his beloved daughters, Patti J. (late Henk) Haan of Wheatfield, NY and Diane C. (Paul) Morris of Hamburg, NY; his precious grandson who held a special place in his heart, Mark S. Morris; one aunt Ann (late William) Gabrielli of Lewiston, NY and his special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Angelo (Josephine of Niagara Falls, NY) Marcucci, Arthur (Virginia of Niagara Falls, NY) Marcucci and two sisters, Ella (late John) Bosso and Mary (late James) Corsaro.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 7th at 11:30 a.m. at the Infant Jesus Shrine, 3452 Niagara Falls Boulevard, North Tonawanda, NY with Rev. John Posiewala officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined.
