Forestport - L. Gould Den-
slow, 69, of Forestport, died
in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital,
Utica after a long illn
e s s .
He was born in Boonville,
Oct. 5, 1890, son of James H.
and Mary Horton Denslow.
He married Alice Briggs in
Boonville April 5, 1907. She
died Dec. 17, 1959.
He was a life resident of
this vicinity, except for a few
years in Syracuse, where he
was engaged in mason work.
He operated a canal boat
on the Black River and Erie
Canals from 1910 to 1922. He
also operated a sandpit and
sand block works near Alder
Creek Station.
Six years ago he started a
service station operation on
Rte. 28 at Alder Creek. He
operated the station until his

He was_of Methodist faith.
Surviving are four sons,
Floyd, Syracuse; Leafeo and
Cecil, Foresport; Thomas,
Westmoreland; four daughters,
Mrsi'Daniel Brown, Yorkville;
Mrs.- Alfred Knowles,
Mrs. John Majczak and Mrs.
Stanley Starzyk, all of Utica;
a brother, ,George, Boonville;
four sisters, Mrs. Hayes
Golden, Rome; Mrs. Raymond
Cotton, Syracuse; Mrs. John
Gehringer, Chadwicks; Mrs.
Richard Buck, Whitesboro;
an uncle, 25 grandchildren, 7
great grandchildren, and sev-
eral nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2
tomorrow from Trainor Fu-
neral Home, Boonville, the
Rev. Alton A. Parker, pastor
of the Boonville Methodist
Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Alden Creek Ceme-
tery.
