A widely known resident of the
north end section of the city
died 25 years ago today in the
person of Conrad Stahle. of Cleveland
avenue. He had been born in
this city in 1864 and in 1888 married
to Miss Margaret Dick, who,
together with a son and daughter,
William C. and Ursula, survived
him.

jV/JR- STAHLE started his career
as a foreman with the old
Wentworth and Taylor Construction
company, with Which he was
connected for nine years. During
that time the company erected the
Gluck building and the Union Carbide,
company's plant. During the
construction of the latter building,
officials of the Union Carbide, noting
the efficiency of the foreman
in charge, offered Mr. Stahle the
position of master mechanic in the
new plant, a position which he accepted
and retained until his death.

["WRING the latter years of his
life,.Mr. Stahle was keenly interested
in the affairs of St. James
Methodist church. As a young man
he had been a member of the Zion
Lutheran church but. after joining
the St. James congregation, he was
leceted a member of the board of
trustees and as such had an active
part in the construction of the
present church building.
