- David S. Koch, I., 66, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Saturday, March 7, 2015 in Buffalo General Hospital, following a lengthy illness. Born on March 16, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Alvin and RoseMarie (Baio) Koch.
Mr. Koch was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. David attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed by Cataract Door & Lumber and Shanor Electric Supply. Later, Mr. Koch was the owner and operator of Dave's New & Used on Pine Avenue. David attended Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, where he attended the St. Joseph's worship site. He enjoyed antiquing and fishing.
Mr. Koch is survived by four children, David S. (Donna Wheaton) Koch, II of Niagara Falls, NY, Jennifer (James) Martelle of Niagara Falls, NY, Laurie (Dave) Diem of the Town of Niagara, NY and Tim Koch of Niagara Falls, NY; eleven grandchildren, Sara Cooke, Samuel, Brianna, Gianna and Arianna Koch, Kayla McKarthy, Laurie (Alex) Sawicki, Brandon Thompson, Tyler Frey, Cassidy Koch and Mya Lorenti; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Sawicki, Chase Thompson, Devin Thompson and Giovanni Pinto; his former wife, Terese Koch of North Tonawanda, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his former spouse, Sandra Darrah and three siblings, Robert, Joseph and Lawrence Koch.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th from 4-8 p.m. in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007) where a funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00 p.m. with Rev.
