Warren B. Martin, 68, of 7407
Alvarado Rd., La Mesa, Calif.,
formerly of Medina, died Monday at
Buffalo General Hospital, after a
long illness. He was born Jan. 8,1916
in Medina, to the late Charles E. and
Ethel (Britt) Martin. He has lived
for the past 22 years in the San
Diego, Calif, area. Prior to moving
to California, he had lived most of
his life in Medina where he operated
his own optical business.
In California he worked as an
optician until forced to retire due to
ill health. He was a member of the
San Diego Presbyterian Church and
a former member of the Medina
Lions Club and the United
Presbyterian Church of Medina. In
the last few years he had enjoyed
square dancing and playing the
accordian.
Survivors include three daughters
and two sons, the Rev. Mary E.
Martin of Hartland, Mrs. Allen
(Rachel) LaShire of West Virginia,
Ms. Carol McDonald of Rochester,
David (Joanne) Martin of Gananda,
N.Y., Michael (DeAnn) Taylor of
Graham, Wash.; 17 grandchildren;
three brothers and one sister, Bruce
(Peggy) Martin of Medina, Mrs.
Edward (Pauline) Firestone of
Getzville, Charles (Helen) Martin of
Orlando, Fla. Roland (Alice) Martin
of Medina; and several nieces and
nephews.
Friends may call tonight (7-9) and
Wednesday (24, 7-9) at the Barnes-
Tuttle Inc. Funeral Home, 226 Pearl
St. A funeral service will be held
Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Hartland
United Methodist Church, 8017
Ridge Rd., Gasport. Mr. Martin's
daughter, the Rev. Mary E. Martin,
will officiate and burial will be in
Hartland Central Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be made to
the American Cancer Society or to
the charity of one's choice.
