- Anna M. Barone, 83, beloved mother and grandmother passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lena (Ciambrone) Allotta.
Anna attended local schools graduating from NCCC. She was employed at Olin Mathieson-VP, Union Carbide, OTB and Anthony C. Barone General Contracting, Inc.
Anna was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, St. Leo’s Church where she was a 6th grade religious education teacher, helped with fund raising and office work. She was a past member of the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club Women’s Auxiliary, Girls Town of Italy, Military Road Mother’s Club, Women Interested in Cystic Health and a volunteer fundraiser for the WNY Kidney Foundation. In addition, she was a Board of Director Trustee for the Riverdale Cemetery Association. She also volunteered for the Miss America, The Miss USA/Universe, and was the Director of the Miss NC Teenage Pageants. Dear to Anna’s heart she liked helping talented young boys and girls achieve their goals. Above all, Anna especially loved her sons and grandchildren.
Anna is survived by her three sons, Anthony C. (Kimberly) Barone, Sylvester A. Barone and Christopher (Lori Janik) Barone; her grandchildren, Carli Plumeri, Nick Barone, Ciara and Celena Barone; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Anna was predeceased by four sisters, Philomena Allotta, Mary Ann (late Pat) Tunzi, Jeannette (late Frank) Insana, Margie (Patsy) Ruggirello and one brother, Anthony (Alice) Allotta, Sr.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 10 from 4 - 8 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304, where services will begin on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by Anna’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Entombment will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. Due to current circumstances, social distancing and masks will be required to adhere with current regulations.
