W a l t e r Stanz, t w e l v e year old, son
of Mr and Mrs. Louis Stanz, 49 Felton
s t r e e t . met a t e r r i b l e d e a t h while on
his way home from the Gratwick
school for lunch shortly after 12
o'clock this afternoon. He was
g r o u n d to pieces under the wheels of
a N i a g a r a trolley car.
He was a t t e m p t i n g "to c r o s s Oliv
e r s t r e e t ahead of the southbound
t r o l l e y car. when he ran in front of
a u t o m o b i l e . d r i v e n by A. S. Cooper
Michigan avenue, Buffalo. The
f e n d e r of the a u t o m o b i l e , which was
b e i n g driven n o r t h on Oliver s t r e e t.
hit the youth a n d knocked him under
t h e wheels of t h e t r o l l e y car.
Cor o n e r J. K. Helwig was notified
a n d had the r e m a i n s removed to the
undert a k i n g rooms of Fred Hamp on
Young s t r e e t.
Cooper went to police h e a d q u a r t e rs
and. a f t e r m a k i n g a r e p o r t of t h e ac-
cident was not d e t a i n e d . He said he
did not see the boy until he dashed
from t h e curb in front of the automobile.
Cooper said that it was im-
possible to avoid h i t t i n g t h e lad.
B e s i d e s his p a r e n t s the Stanz boy
is survived by three s i s t e r s and a
twin brother.
