  North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 6/30/1914 News was received yesterday of the sudden death In Portland, Oregon, of Hon. Daniel E. Brong, prominent Niagara county lawyer and deputy attorney general under Hughes' administration at Albany. He leaves a wife pnd two sons. Mr. Brong was for many years one of the most prominent attorneys of Niagara County and a leading power in the Republican party organization. He was one of the best known and able campaign orators in the county and was always in demand in campaign lime. He was once district attorney ot Niagara county. His home, until he recently removed to the west, was on Walnut street, ockport, where he had long been In practice of the law. He was celebrated as a criminal lawyer. He was senior member of the former law firm of Brong & JeMefy, at Lockport, until the death of Elwood D. Jeffery a few years ago.
