- Gail I. Broniszewski (nee Anderson) was born March 16, 1943 in St. Mary's Pennsylvania. She died on January 9, 2017 peacefully at her home in North Tonawanda, NY surrounded by her family after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. Gail was the daughter of James L. Anderson (1946) of Dagus Mines, Pa. and Sara (Anderson) Borland(2015) who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by and her loving step-father J. Hobart Borland (2007) as well as her beloved brother Gary Anderson(2016).
Gail is survived by her loving husband and sweetheart of 48 years, Walter L. as well as two daughters and one son, Kathleen (Christopher) Dill of Loveland, Colorado, Karen West, and Michael Broniszewski, both of North Tonawanda. Proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren: Ferris (Jimmy), Shawn, Sarah, Regan, Maddie, Maya, Erin, and Gavin. Great Grandmother to Anders Lee. Also survived by her sister Brenda (Joe) Saricks of DuBois, Pa. and sister-in-law, Nancy D. Anderson of Butler, Pa. as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gail's vast network of wonderful and supportive friends are a testimonial to her character and life. A lover of animals, Gail and Wally rescued their precious dog, Maggie (sister Margaret) who brought joy and companionship to her final years.
Gail had great faith in our Lord and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of North Tonawanda. She happily served on the United Methodist Women Executive Board, holding the chair position for several years, was a member of Esther Circle, assisted in their reading resources program, was a volunteer visitor for the Comfort Committee and Beechwood Representative, a part of the Hopf Hall Kitchen staff, and Canal Fest Committee.
She retired in 2007 after many years of working as a Keyboard Specialist for the New York State Developmental Disabilities Office. She previously worked for the Kadimah School of Buffalo in the school offices.
Following cremation, the family will be accepting visitors, Friday January 13, 2017 at Wattengel Funeral home 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, NY. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 9 pm. A service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 10 am followed by a celebration of life.
