CHARLENE'S OBITUARY
Charlene (Reeh) Wilson, 82, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving children on January 30, 2024. She was born in 1941 and lived in Niagara Falls, NY her entire life. On February 27, 1960, she married the love of her life, William (Bill) Wilson and lived a long and happy life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William (Bill) Wilson. She is survived by her daughters Donna Fournier (Steve) and Lori Rozanski (Mike), son Kevin Wilson (Gina), grandchildren, William, Rachel, Michael, Michelle, Zachary, Chelsea, Christopher, and Monica along with many great grandchildren.
Charlene attended St. Mary’s High School in Niagara Falls. She was a lifelong member of St John de LaSalle Church; she made meals for grieving families, gathered baskets and items for church sales, prepared food for Friday fish fries, and served on many other church related programs.
Charlene famously had every imaginable type of bird, squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, and even ducks at her backyard bird feeder. She single-handedly kept the Cayuga Island animal population alive. Her favorite word to shout out loud was BINGO – which she did often when playing at home with family.
Charlene loved to travel with her husband and family. She was a supporter of the arts, attending many gallery exhibits and shows, while lending support and opinions to her sculptor husband.
Her greatest joy was her family. She made sure everyone was fed, on time, and didn’t forget their hats and gloves. She nurtured generations of children and showered them all with unconditional love and support. Mom, Grandma, Grammy will be deeply missed by all.
We wish to extend our most sincere gratitude to Apryl, Jessie, and Jackie and everyone at Niagara Hospice for their compassionate care and guidance. Our parents were blessed to have kind and loving neighbors, especially Oscar and Judy, who were always there for them in times of need.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10am at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. The interment will be private.
