- Obituary of Jeanne Toponak Jeanne L. (Drake) Toponak 61, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away after a lengthy illness on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital and is now walking with Jesus. Born in Niagara Falls on March 15, 1954 she was the daughter of Lewis and Mary (Alex) Drake. She attended services at the First Assembly of God Church and was also a past board member of Independent Living of Niagara and secretary of the Neptune Ski Club. Jeanne was an active advocate for the equality of the disabled; herself an inspiration for New York State's Disabled Parking Law. She will be remembered for being very caring to all who knew her. Jeanne was willing to help anyone, even watching over other children as her own.Besides her parents she is survived by her husband, Steven J. Toponak Sr. of Niagara Falls, NY , children Mary (Gary) Williams of Niagara Falls, NY , Steven (Ashlea) Toponak Jr. of North Tonawanda, NY, Brian (Adina) Toponak Sr. of Amherst, NY and Andrew Toponak of Florida; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Andrea, Gary Jr., Gianna, Aiden, Brian Jr., Adelyn, Matthew, Cameron, Gavin, Madison and one grandchild on the way; Sisters, Kathy (Thom) Walter of Colorado and Kelly Albamonti of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her Brother In-law, Frank Toponak.Friends may call Tuesday, August 25th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. Where funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 26th with Rev. Stewart Lindsay officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
