- Philomena (nee Macoretta) Santarella, age 89, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Center in Lockport, after a long illness. Born in Thorold, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Maria (nee Prestia) Macoretta. Mrs. Santarella had been a member of the North Tonawanda Red Hat Society. She was the wife of the late Nicholas S. Santarella, who died July 30, 1999.
She is survived by her four daughters, Marilee (Jerry) Waddell of Tonawanda, Donna (Fred) Doxbeck of Amherst, Sandra (Edward) Bowker of Amherst, and Debra A. Santarella of North Tonawanda.
There is no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday at St. Christopher R.C. Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Friends invited. Inurnment will be cared for privately at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Buffalo. If desired, memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 are preferred by the family.
