CONCORDIA - The funeral for Arley A. Bryant, 71, Concordia, local educator and a founder of Cloud County Community College, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Concordia Baptist Church, the Rev. Alden Dick officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Bryant died unexpectedly Friday Afternoon in Belleville. He was born Oct. 30, 1910, at Braymer Mo., and moved to Concordia in 1947. He joined the teaching staff of the Concordia Junior-Senior High School and was president of the college he helped found. He retired in 1976. At the time of his death he, Mr. Bryant was serving on the board of directors for the restoration of Concordia's Brown Grand Opera House and was also chairman of the board of directors of St. Joseph's Hospital here. In 1968, he received the Master Teacher Award. Mr. Bryant was a member of the Baptist Church, past president of the Concordia Rotary Club and past president of the Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife, Martha, of the home; three sons, William, Concordia; Gregory, Manhattan, and Bradley, Lawrence; two daughters; Mrs. Arle Ann Lamberd, Topeka, and Mrs. Marsha Jo Brown, Manhattan; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Barber, Excelsior Springs, Mo., and seven grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the church or to the Endowment and
