Jim was born September 25, 1932 in Braymer, Missouri. He passed away at the La Jolla, California on February 3, 2006. Jim was a member and Deacon of the Holtville Primitive Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1951 to 1955. After many years of County service, he retired as the Superintendent of the Imperial County Garage in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Lucie, son-in-law and daughter Kevin and Terri Spangler, grandson Christian Spangler, sister Rowena Wall, brother Sam Bryant, and a host of family and friends.
