- James W. Conklin, Sr., of the Town of Niagara, died on July 6, 2018 in Northgate Manor Health Care Facility. He was 80. He was born in Burlington Township, Towanda, PA, the son of Edward Sr. and Anna (Strope) Conklin. He attended grammar schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from High School in PA. During high school, he worked at his grandparents dairy farm.
Jim was employed as a millwright for the former Union Carbide Company until its closing. He was later employed and retired from Harrison Radiator.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jane Hall Conklin in 1995. He is survived three children, Debra Jean Miller of the Town of Niagara; John M. Conklin of the Town of Niagara and Barbara Ann Walters (late Thomas) of North Tonawanda; his brother, Edward Conklin, Jr. (late Jeanette); six grandchildren; five great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, James Jr., and his wife, Karla Bartel; a brother, Norman Conklin and two sisters, Jean and Patricia Seger and a grandchild.
Family will be present Thursday from 2-4, 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. The interment and funeral services will be held at the Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorials if desired, may be made to the American Parkinson’s Association of WNY.
