- Larry W. Hetherly, 79, of Canastota, New York died peacefully, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, New York after a courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born in Lockport, New York to the late William H. and Helen Reachkoff Hetherly on June 25, 1943, where he resided until 2005, and retired to Oneida Lake.
Larry retired from General Motors following 35 years of service as a Packer. Following retirement he worked for Adesa Car Auction Company for 20 years at both Akron and Cicero locations
Not only did Larry enjoy spending time with his family, he also enjoyed boating, watching the sunsets over the lake and playing the slots.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Marie Bernard Hetherly; son, Brian (Candy) Hetherly; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Danna; sister, Gail (James) Sullivan; his twin brother, Gary (Linda) Hetherly; four grandchildren, Desirae, Deidre, Danielle and Bryce and a great-granddaughter, Lylah. Also, including several nieces and nephews
A Celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date.
