- Helen "Dolores" (nee Webber) Hann, 97, passed from this life on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Elderwood at Grand Island. Born on October 14, 1918 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Collins) Webber.
Mrs. Hann graduated from the former St. Mary's High School and later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Buffalo State College. Helen met Paul Floyd Hann, whom she married on April 6, 1940. He was the love of her life and her rock for almost 50 years, until he passed away on September 24, 1984.
Raising a family of five, with tender love and care, included hours of reading aloud to them, as well as her excellent cooking and baking skills. When all of her children went to school, she started a very successful home-based business making custom draperies for JC Penny. As her family began to leave home, Helen returned to teaching at Our Lady of the Rosary School and St. Teresa School. For several years, Helen and Paul enjoyed traveling together across country by motor home and spent many happy family times at their summer cabin in Smethport, PA. Even later in life, she traveled with her family to Hawaii, England, Scotland, Wales and the Canadian Rockies. Helen always cherished her visits with family and will be dearly missed by everyone.
Mrs. Hann is survived by five children, Gail (Tom) Ballard of Gardnerville, NV, Donna (Ian) Deters Hatton of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, Paul (Belle) Hann of Smethport, PA, Bruce (Paula) Hann of Grand Island, NY and Linda (Chester) Sliwowski of Niagara Falls, NY; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by three siblings, Vera (late Duncan) Neilson and (late Floyd) Austin of Niagara Falls, NY, Joseph (late Florence) Webber of Niagara Falls, NY and James (Verna) Webber of North Tonawanda NY, as well as many nieces and nephew

Visitation and funeral services will be held privately with her family at OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY (716-297-9007), with Rev. William Allegretto officiating the service. Private graveside services will take place in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
