Mrs. John Haack, sr., 88, a resident of Grand Island for 62 years, died at her home this morning after an illness of the past week. Her home was at 722 North Elm. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Geddes funeral home. The Rev. C. B. Harmon, retired pastor of St. Paul's English Lutheran church, will officiate at the services and burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery.
Mrs. Haack, the former Magdalena Koster, was born Dec. 9, 1858, in Germany. She and Mr. Haack were married in Germany. They came to America in 1885 and located at Grand Island. Nine children were born to them. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Survivors include four sons, J. Chris Hack (sic), Ernest A. Haack, John H. Haack and William F. Haack, all of Grand Island; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Barker, Wood River, and Mrs. Fred Voss, Grand Island; 15 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her husband and three children preceded her in death.
