Lawrence ‘Larry’ Janese, Sr., of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on his 83rd Birthday, December 16, 2024, at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Anne (Pucci) Janese.
Larry attended local schools in Niagara Falls. On January 19, 1963, he married Carol A. (Doll) Janese. Mrs. Janese predeceased him on August 11, 2009. Larry was employed as a Truck Driver for Occidental Chemical Corporation in Niagara Falls, NY for over 30 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a diehard Raiders Football fan, and also enjoyed frequenting the casino and bowling. Known for being a true character and a jokester, he often referred to himself as ‘The Mayor’. Above all, he cherished the time that he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Lawrence is survived by his sons, Lawrence ‘Larry’ (Darlene) Janese, Jr. and Donald Mark Janese; his grandchildren, Adam Janese, Lawrence ‘Larry’ (Sara) Janese, III, Tiffany Peterson, Timothy Steele, Tabitha Janese, and Treavor Janese; his great-grandchildren, Sofia Janese, Lillie Janese, Ava Peterson, William Peterson, Brenda Peterson, Deanna Peterson, Evelyn Peterson, and Amaya Steele; his siblings, Ron (Claudia) Janese, Shirley Hare, and Edward Janese; his longtime friend, Arlene Heisner, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his wife of 46 years, he was predeceased by his siblings, Frank D. (Rose) Janese, Mike D. Janese, and Rudy D. (late Jean) Janese.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22 from 1 – 3 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304.
