- OLDENBURG - Vera B. (nee Ramsay) Age 90 of the City of Tonawanda, May 5, 2016. Wife of Former Tonawanda Police Chief James G. Oldenburg who died in 1989; mother of Timothy (Gerilyn) Oldenburg and Todd (Gabriele) Oldenburg; grandmother of Rebecca (Robert "BJ") McNicholas, Dr. Timothy (Kelly) Oldenburg, Nicole (Jonathan) Bell and Jenna (Douglas) Sybert; great-grandmother of Austin, Kenzie, Griffin, Gavin, Oscar, Ezra, Zaris, Imogene, Madison, Mallory, Monica and Jackson; sister of Betty (late John) Wactawski, Charles (Dianne) Ramsay and the late William Ramsay and Mary Hering and sister-in-law of Gerry (late William) Ramsay; also many nieces and nephews. Vera was a 1943 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and had been employed as a Cafeteria Aid at Tonawanda High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Women's Auxiliary of DeGraff Memorial Hospital and a supporter of the SPCA of Erie County. The family will be receive relatives and friends on Tuesday (May 10) from 4-7 PM at the JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday (May 11) in First Presbyterian Church, 149 Broad St. in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Erie County.
