  Obituary from Evening News of the Tonawandas Monday, October 7, 1918 William F. Karre, 63 years old, died Saturday afternoon at his home at No. 222 Stenzil street after a lingering illness. He was born in Germany and had lived in the Tonawandas during the last thirty-four years of his life. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Paul and Ernest Karre of North Tonawanda, five daughters, the Misses Ella and Hattie Karre, Mrs. John Lemke and Mrs. Edward Proefrock of North Tonawanda and Mrs. H. Kaufmann of Chicago; three brothers, August Karre of Germany and Otto and Ernest Karre of North Tonawanda, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Zimmerman of North Tonawanda. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence and half an hour later from the St. Mark's church on Washington street. Rev. Paul Freffhold officiating. Burial will be at Elmlawn.
