BERNADETTE A. (BULKA) TALARICO
TEACHER'S AIDE
Bernadette A. Talarico, 50, of Sandlewood Drive, a community volunteer and teacher's aide, died Sunday (June 20, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Bernadette Bulka in Niagara Falls, she graduated from Madonna High School in 1967 and from Bryant & Stratton Business Institute in 1969.
Mrs. Talarico was co-chairwoman of the 1998 Festival of Lights Gala. She was a former president of Niagara Catholic High School Alumni and a former member of the Lewiston Library board of trustees.
She volunteered for Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club, Niagara University, Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped and Porter Cup Golf Tournament at Niagara Falls Country Club.
Mrs. Talarico was a member of the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary, the Lewiston Service Guild, and St. Peter's Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society.
She was honored as the Niagara Catholic Woman of the Year in 1996.
Mrs. Talarico worked as a teacher's aide at St. Peter's School until 1998.
She enjoyed family events and spending time at the family cabin in the Southern Tier.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Samuel A.; a son, Victor J.; two daughters, Jennifer L. and Alisa M.; and her parents, John and Bernice Bulka of Niagara Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter's Church, 620 Center St., after prayers at 9:15 in M.J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St., Niagara Falls.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
