Oct. 25.-Mr Albert Essex died
Wednesday, October 20th, at his home
in Shumla, after an illness of two
days, with heart failure.
Mr Essex was a native of Cherry
Creek but had lived in! Shumla for
about •twenty-five years. Mr. Essex;
was a very quiet, pleasant man. He
filled the office of school trustee suc-
cessfully '. and regardless of poor
health, he was ever ready with: a
pleasant smile to g|ve a helping hand
in.times when it was needed.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.
Hattie Scott Essex; and a daughter,
'Mrs. Luther Bull, of Shumla, who lived
in the 'same.' house' with 'Mr. and Mrs.
Essex; three sisters, Mrs. Durkley of
Fredonia, Mrs W. J. Hunt of Forest-
ville. H. j: Hunt of Yakima, Wash.,
and two brothers, Mr. Oscar Essex of
South Dayton and Walter Essex' of
Hamlet.
His funeral, was held Saturday after-
noon at the house, where many rela-
tives and friends 'from his childhood
home and other places gathered to
pay their last respects.
