- Rose L. Figurilli, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Elderwood Health Care Facility in Wheatfield, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (Giuliano) Destino.
Rose was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from Trott Vocational High School. On June 29, 1946, she married Anthony L. Figurilli at St. Joseph Church. Mr. Figurilli predeceased her on July 7, 1999. Rose was employed by Hooker Chemical Corporation as a secretary in the mid 1940’s. She was a member of the St. Joseph Church Senior Society. Rose’s hobbies included cooking, baking and gardening. Most of all, Rose centered her life around her family, and cherished the time spent together.
Rose is survived by her children, Anthony J. (Sundy) Figurilli, Gerald J. (Debra) Figurilli, and Robert P. Figurilli; several grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Susan (late Frank) Salimbene, Katherine (late Sebastian) Grizanti, Alex (late Anne) Destino, Nunzio (Margaret) Destino, James (Carmella) Destino, Mary (late Tom) Mastromatteo, Patsy (Betty) Destino, Antoinette (late Salvatore) Rizzo, Louis (Maryann) Destino, and Joseph (Michelina ‘Mickey’) Destino.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Rose’s Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, February 7th at 10:00 a.m. at in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Everyone please assemble at church. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
