- Douglas R. Townsend of Lockport, NY, husband of Martha Edmister entered into rest on May 19, 2023 at
Niagara Hospice House. He was born in Lockport, NY on August 20, 1945 to the late Clarence Townsend
and Loraine M. Kraatz. Douglas retired from General Motors and was the owner of Network Video. He
enjoyed his beautiful family and fishing with his son Scott, snowmobiling and camping.
Father of Donna (Kirk) Alexander, Dina (Jon) Kornell, Deborah Clack and Douglas Townsend. Grandfather
of Brittany (Tim Kirsh) Alexander, Jillian (Corey) Wood, Ryan Townsend, Ashley Clack, Alyssa Kornell and
Caitlin Clack. Great grandfather of Madison Alexander, Chase Alexander and Emily Wood. Brother of
Bruce (Pat) Townsend, Roger (Shirley) Townsend, Mary (late Gordon) Bessinger, Dorothy (John)
Ramming, Clarence (Ronald) Townsend, Jane (Rick) Dent, Ruthanne (Dave) LaPort and the late Ronald, Donald Townsend and Richard (Shirley) Townsend. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on
Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 11am. Burial will be in Budde Rd. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Doug’s
name can be made to Niagara Hospice 4675 Sunset Dr. Lockport, NY 14094.
