Albert L. Black, 75, of Sanborn, NY, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2020. Born on March 22, 1945 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Carl and Louise Black.
Louie, as he was known, was a lifelong area resident, attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston Porter High School.He retired after 25 years from Ford Motor Company, where he was employed as a mechanic. Louie then went on becoming a member of the Union of Operating Engineers Local #463, working as a crane operator. He had a passion for cars. Louie built his own custom 1951 Ford Convertible and enjoyed taking it to local cruise nights and just driving around the countryside, enjoying the ride.
Louie is survived by his beloved wife, Yvonne; children, Christine (Jeff) Walsh, Barbara (Richard) Collins, John (Debra) Kay and Colleen Freeman;12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, William (Nancy) Black and John Black and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Louie was predeceased by his former spouse, Angela; a daughter, Tina; step-children, James and Karen and brothers, Jerry and Wayne.
Due to COVID-19, visitation and funeral service times will be announced at a later date. Interment will eventually take place in Mount View Cemetery, Pekin, NY. For now, if desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice or Niagara County SPCA. Arrangements are under the care of Michael R. Goodlander, OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME.
