- Frederick W. Becker, age 74, of Tonawanda, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at his residence after a long illness. Born January 19, 1943 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Leslie and Gertrude (nee Donovan) Becker. Fred was an Electrician for Driscoll Electric in Buffalo for more than 30 years before retiring and was a volunteer fireman for National Hose Company #1 in Tonawanda.
He was the beloved husband for 50 years of Linda (nee Guarino) Becker; loving father of Christina (Bob) Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cheryl Gravanda of Charlotte, North Carolina, Frederick Becker, Jr. of Tonawanda, and Robert (fiancee' Alla) Becker; loving grandfather of Ashley and Erica Williams, Michael Gravanda, Joseph and Robert Becker; and loving brother to Michael (Joyce) Becker of Boston, New York, Loretta (Joseph) Kulczyk of Hamburg, and Susan (David) Orlowski of Hamburg. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, and his faithful companion, "Stitch".
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Tuesday only at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 150 Broad Street at Clinton Park, Tonawanda. Friends invited. If desired, memorials to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227, are preferred by the family.
