- Ruth M. Daigler
Beloved Wife of James Franklin Daigler (deceased).
Daughter to the late Charles and Angeline Billman. Ruth wanted to grow up to be just like her Mom, but was completely a Daddy's girl.
Sister of the late John; Edward (Yvonne); Charles (Isabelle); Freddie Billman and Catherine Bowler(Jim). Survived by loving big brother Paul(Mary Ellen) and little sister Elizabeth Borden (late Robert).
Welcomed into the Daigler Family and loved like a sister by the late Eileen Keeler (Albert),
Carol Childs ( Lloyd), Albert ( survived by dear Lucy) and the very full of life Raymond and Betsy Daigler.
Ruth was gifted with many nieces and nephews. She loved them deeply and they gave that same in return to her.
Ruth's legacy will be carried forward by her adoring children and their families : Daniel (Susan); Donna Kankiewicz(Paul); Jim (Betty); Mike (late Linda); Patty (Bertie Tullis); Sue Carlson (Don); John (Nancy); Ellen Giblin (Ken); Greg; nineteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
Ruth was a child of the Parish of St. Francis DeSales in Buffalo, N.Y.. Through her involvement in the Catholic Youth Organization; she met Jim of St. James Parish...while bowling. They went to a dance. They fell in love, and when he returned from War..they would marry.
In 1949, with their first two children in tow, her brother and best friend Freddie and Jim she moved to Olcott N.Y. They would run the Olcott Variety Shop... a drug store, a general store, a soda fountain, a restaurant.
There were few sidewalks in Olcott. For a Buffalo girl who loved to roller skate, that was a concern. She told Jim she'd stay for two years. Seven more children would be born in Olcott into the Parish of St. Charles Borromeo (St. Brendan's on the Lake). She would live out her 92 years in the small town she grew to love deeply. In her home; looking at Lake Ontario; with a yard full of her favorite rose bushes she would be deeply and endlessly loved by her many friends and thankful family.
