- Teresa A. Polka, 60, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on July 15, 2020 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Byron and Patricia (Mackenzie) Schucker.
On August 18, 1979, Teresa married Ronald J. Polka at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls, NY. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Hospice Care at Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda, NY for 30 years, retiring in 2019. She enjoyed to cook and bake, and made hundreds of wedding cakes from the 1970’s to the early 1990’s for local weddings.
In addition to her husband of 40 years, Teresa is survived by her son, Joseph (Heidi Petterson) Polka; her grandchildren, Isaiah and Amelia Polka; her siblings, Kevin (Julie) Schucker, Linda (Bob) Johnson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her "better half" Michael Montagna. She was predeceased by an infant child, as well as her siblings, David Schucker and Michael (Veronica) Schucker.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22 from 4 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM. Due to current circumstances, social distancing and masks will be required to adhere with current regulations.
