DORNFELD - Herbert O. Dornfeld, 81, of Batavia, NY., Tuesday (Feb. 18, 1975) at St. Jerome Hospital after a brief illness. A native of North Tonawanda, he had been a resident of Detroit, Mich., and Batavia for more than 50 years. An Army veteran of World War I, Mr. Dornfeld was well known as a pitcher on the Martinsville (semi-pro) Baseball Team in his youth. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Lorna) Ryan; two sons, Robert and Herbert Dornfeld Jr. of Saginaw, Mich.; four sisters, Mrs. Louise Dietrich of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Jane Danahy and Mrs. Robert (Mabel) Robertson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Ernest (Josephine) Beightol of Detroit, Mich., and eight, grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William Sts., Tonawanda where services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday by the Rev. Enno A. Schmoock. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
