- James N. Alexander, age 76, of Lockport, formerly of Liberty, PA, entered into rest on March 23, 2012, at Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport site. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 16, 1936 to the late William and Margaret (Newton) Alexander. He was employed at Spaulding Composites Co., Inc. and American Optical, before retirement. James was an avid hunter, fisherman, sportsman and enjoyed nature photography. He was a life member and past Chief of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company, and also a life member of the Frontier Fire Company; member of the Shawnee Benevolent Association, Western New York Volunteer Fireman's Assoc., and the Red Run Rod & Gun Club, Ralston, PA.. Survivors include his beloved wife, Alice (Moje) Alexander. They were united in marriage July 30, 1973; nine children, Keith, Kevin and Kent Tremblett, all of North Tonawanda, William (Sandie) Singleton of Appleton, Karen (Michael) Schleicher of North Tonawanda, Richard (Cheryl) Singleton of Lockport, Peggy (Dave) Andrzejewski of North Tonawanda, Diane Salverson of Lexington, SC, and Mary (Thomas) Schneider of Lockport; a brother, David (Janice) Alexander of Grand Island; sister, Nancy (Gerald) Reid of Ransomville; 27 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Shawnee Fire Company, 3747 Lockport Road, Wheatfield, on Monday, March 26 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Fire Company. Arrangements were handled by the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME..
