- Jean E. Richards (Carrigan) age 94,entered into rest on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Lockport Rehab & Health Care Facility. Born on July 25, 1924 the daughter of James and Pearl Carrigan. Jean was a graduate of Wilson Central Schools. She married the late Duane “Joe” Richards and together they were members of the Warrens Corners Methodist Church, The Road Runners and the Elks of Lockport. Jean worked at the Felt Mill in Newfane and later at the Newfane Nursing Home. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Together with Joe she enjoyed traveling all over the world, other interests include knitting, quilting and playing cards. She has a competitiveness about her, in which she enjoyed race walking with her friends. Jean was known for her elderberry pies, Texas sheet cake and suet pudding.
Jean is survived by her daughter Judy (late Ronald) Branch and her son Ronald (Catherine) Richards; grandmother of Jodie (Mike) Jeffery, Jeffrey (Andrea) Richards, Sandra (Rich) Williams the late Ronald Jr. (late Madhvi) Richards and Heather (Kevin) Zastrocky. She is survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jean later in life found joy with her canine companion Boston Terrier Bailee Jo.
In lieu of flowers memorials to Warrens Corners Methodist Church or Niagara Hospice would be appreciated. NO PRIOR VISITATION. A private graveside will be held in North Ridge Cemetery.
