- Rosalie Ann Wakefield, 73, passed away October 16, 2018. She was born January 10, 1945 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Louis and Josephine (Cicero) Reele. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Peggy and Jim Bulmer; and her father and mother-in-law Clayton F and Blanche Wakefield.
Rosalie came to Manatee County in 1976 from Lockport, New York. She retired as a comptroller for Manatee Glens. She was very active in the Elks and their EFELT Backpack Program. She also enjoyed dancing, reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years, Clayton R. Wakefield, Sr; children, Lisa B. Burns and her husband David R. Burns II; Clayton "Tony" Wakefield, Jr; Sarah Wakefield and her fiancé Brett Davis; brothers, Joseph Reele and his wife Jan; and Louis Reele and his wife Bonnie; sister and brother-in-law Betty & James Ruppel; grandchildren, Carrie Burns and her fiance Jon; David R. Burns III; Clayton "CJ" Wakefield and his wife Kayla; Kayla Goddard and her husband Dave; and Toni Chey Wakefield; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved like children.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1 to 5 pm at Maloney Funeral Home, 2401 Cattlemen Road, Sarasota, Florida 34232.
