- OBITUARY
Michael R. Swartz of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in the Buffalo General Medical Center. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on November 9, 1951, a son of the late Robert and Jean [Murphy] Swartz.
Michael graduated from Bishop Duffy in 1969 and Christ the King Seminary. He was ordained in 1987 and served with various churches in the area. He later became a Licensed Practical Nurse at Niagara Rehabilitation, where he was a fixture on the mid night shift for the past 10 years.
Michael loved spending time with his family and his nieces and nephews were his pride and joy.
He is survived by four brothers Lee (Florence), Paul (Carol), Donald (Patricia) and Lawrence (Jonna) Swartz, two sisters Karen (late Richard) Smith and Mary Anne Swartz, his aunt Sr. Bernadette Geiser, two sister in laws Joanne and Linda Swartz, also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was the brother of the late Dennis (late Anne), Timothy and Philip Swartz and Maureen Walsh and was the uncle of the late Joshua and Joseph Swartz.
His family will be present on Friday from 2-5 at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Prince of Peace site 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
Flowers are gratefully declined.
Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
