- Ronald A. Pera, age 83, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on July 16, 2019 at Niagara Hospice House. Born July 17, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Archie and Mary Ann (Rajczak) Pera. Ron is survived by his beloved bride of 44 years, Judith A. (Behrens) Pera, who he married on August 17, 1974.
Ron attended local schools and retired from Good Year Tire & Rubber Co. after 40 years of service. He was the owner of R A Pera Auto Wrecking in Niagara Falls, NY which he ran with his brother Richard until the time of Richard’s passing.
Ron loved hunting in the southern tier with his father and brother; was an avid Mopar fan and enjoyed NASCAR Racing. He also loved welding and soldering projects, and drove his cherished Dodge Ram, “Grumbles” and Dodge Challenger only when the sun would shine.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Christopher (Tammy) Pera; daughters, Cheryl Pera and Elise (Paul) Faleski; two grandchildren, Paul Faleski and Laura (Eric) Dietz; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard and sister-in-law, Carol Pera; and one sister, Arlene (Gary) Banas.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 19th from 3 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John David Duke, Jr. officiating. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials, if desired, may be made in Ron’s memory to the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Fund, 625 Third Street, Youngstown, NY 14174; Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094; or St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport Street, Youngstown, NY 14174.
