  The Daily News, Batavia - 10/24/1944 William Schilling, Sr., 87, died Sunday (October 22. 1844) at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Durain Martin of Middleport. He was born on March 31, 1847 In Germany.Besides his granddaughter, Mr.Schilling is survived by three grandsons. Arthur and George of Middleport and John A. Schilling of Basom, and three great-grandchildren, Emily Schilling of Basom, Jean Martin of Middleport and Robert Martin of the United States Navy in Louisiana.
