William F. Skipworth, 89, of Lewiston, NY, entered into rest on Saturday, July 26, 2008 in Mount Saint Marys Hospital. Born on June 15, 1919 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of the late William P. and Kathryn (Weining) Skipworth. On August 7, 1943, he married the former Bernice E. Wolfe.Mr. Skipworth attended schools in Rochester, NY and came to the Lewiston area in 1954. William worked for Loblaws Inc. and Peter J. Schmidt as a Store Manager for over 47 years. Following his retirement, for 10 years, he spent winters in Port Richey, FL. William enjoyed gardening and was an avid stamp and coin collector.In addition to his beloved wife, Bernice of 64 years, Mr. Skipworth is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Soos and Debra Wagner, both of Lockport, NY; two granddaughters, Tammy (Aaron) (nee Soos) Preisch and Kimberly Wagner, both of Lockport, NY and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Aidan Preisch.There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 1st at 11:00 AM in Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, Campbell Blvd. and Bear Ridge Rd., North Tonawanda, NY. Flowers are gratefully declined. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to The American Heart Association. Arrangements were entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007).
